Originally, either Stony Clove & Catskill Mountain R.R. (July 1881), or Kaaterskill R.R. (July 1883). Sold to F.M. Hicks & Co. (dealer) in 1900. Purchased by the White Pass in 1901. Atlin was derived from a Tlingit phrase, which means large lake.

222 Lake Lindeman built by Jackson & Sharp Co. July 1881 or July 1883 for either Stony Clove & Catskill Mountain R.R. (July 1881), or Kaaterskill R.R. (July 1883). Sold to F.M. Hicks & Co. (dealer) in 1900.[57][58] Purchased by the White Pass in 1901. See, Oldest Operating Rolling Stock, below. Lindeman Lake named for Dr. Moritz Karl Adolph Lindeman (1823-1908), secretary to the Bremen Geographical Society.
