The Container Route issue of March 1969 announced that the White Pass buys 15 East Broad Top ballast cars. This is necessary because of the major maintenance that is expected in spring 1969. They all were build between 1914-28. Only 5 (670, 671, 678, 681, 684) of the former 15 cars survived at the White Pass & Yukon Route.
